Finding a Job in Australia.

But first, the latest news.

I stayed up late Saturday night to watch the result come in live. They said it was too close to call and it did go right to the wire. But in the end, we got a result.

Yes, English Premier League football is back! Moving on…..

Today’s blog post is totally different from anything I have ever done before here on the BobinOz blog. In fact what I am about to do may be totally unique in the blogging world. Because today’s blog post will not be appearing in full until………..

…..tomorrow.

Well, it will be tomorrow here but it’ll be today there. But it might still be early evening yesterday where you are. Does this all make sense?

Probably not. Let me explain.

I’ve entered a competition, so today’s blog post will actually be appearing on another blog called JobMob.

JobMob is a blog about, and this is in their words… “bringing together job seekers and jobfinders to find jobs in Israel and all over the world. Our motto is “all together now.” The blog is filled with straight-talking advice based on real world experience and lots of humor thrown in.”

I’ve had a good look around the site myself and I have to say if you are looking for a job, then it is the place to go. It is jam packed with top tips on how to find work and today I have chipped in with my own advice; finding a job in Australia.

So how do I win this competition? That’s pretty straightforward. There are 25 entries from different authors and the post that gets the most views in the seven-day period following publication is the winner. It’s that simple.

My post goes live today, Monday, 23 August at 2 PM EST, USA. For me to win I need to persuade all of my blog readers, all of my subscribers, my friends, my relatives and all of their friends and relatives AND both of my Facebook friends and my Twitter follower to click on the link to read my post……

Click link here.

Except, of course, you can’t click that link because Monday, 23 August at 2 PM EST, USA is not until Tuesday 24th of August at 4 AM here in Australia. It is also 7PM on Monday, 23rd of August in the UK and sometime around the middle of the day if you are in America but I guess, for those in the east of America, 2 PM.

But as it is currently around eight o’clock in the evening here in Brisbane, the link is not live yet.

Meanwhile, here’s a picture of the beach……..

You won’t find a job in Australia there!

I’m back. It’s tomorrow here now which means it’s now yesterday in America today. That means my post is now live on JobMob. If you want to find out how getting a job in Australia can lead to permanent residency and ultimately, Australian citizenship, you’ll want to read this….

How and Why to Get a Job in Australia by BobinOz

Even if you don’t want to read it, at least click on it….. I’m in a competition!

Jobmob is very helpful! I also tried another website specialized in Career quiz . It’s pretty helpful once you searched bunches of jobs and finally try to sit down and think about yourself. I used not to be a big fan of those tests, but at that point, I start to think about the quiz result and my true strength.

It’s a fantastic “20 Reasons Why You Should Move to Australia” book & I really appreciate the hard work & fun you put in while writing those points.

    Hi Steve

So you’re here at last, excellent news! I hope you are settling in well down at the Gold Coast. It’s sure to be difficult at first, trying to acclimatise to all that sun, sea and glorious sand. But I’m sure you’ll cope.

Did you know that the longest blog post ever written in the world was written by me? It was about getting my telephone and Internet connection line sorted and it runs to 13 chapters! Check it out here if you have enough time to spare. Make a cup of tea first.

Always up for meeting for a beer and watching the football, especially when Spurs are guaranteed a win. heheee!

Just taken a while to get the internet up and running, (could make a couple of blogs just from the problems i’ve had with a couple of of ISP’s here)

Keep up the good work mate, just reading through all the blogs since june!!

Will have to meet up for the Stoke/Spurs televised game if your interested?

    Hey Kaven

Congrats! I think. Obviously it’s fantastic news you’ve been offered a job out here, but seems it has also opened the door to all of those doubts and concerns.

I can understand your wife panicking, having just given birth to your son, because it is a long way from “home” and all those relos. But it will be a fantastic place to bring up your child and believe me, when your relatives do come out to visit you, and they will, they’ll see what a fantastic lifestyle you have here. And for your child. That’s when they’ll understand.

However tricky it gets, you have to give it a go. You’ll never forgive yourself if you don’t at least try. If things do get too tough, I suppose you could always go back. But my guess is you will all want to stay.

    Good luck!

    Some great news Bob… I have been offered a 457 visa outside of Sydney!!! : ) : )
Best part is it is a great job, with great perks in a small town.
Its been 5 years of hard work but I did it. But now my wife is freaking out. You see our son has just turned 3months and her nesting instinct has kicked in.(big time) Her fears are our son will not get to bond with grandparents and close family, and she is afraid of moving so far away. After all this time she is now on the fence…. Oh the stress
