I think it’s fair to say that, with me having lived in Australia for more than 11 years now, I am physically very much distanced from Brexit. I am involved emotionally though, and I’ve been watching this unravel every step of the way.

Here we are, two years later, and today was supposed to be the day. But it isn’t. What happens next, we don’t know.

Whilst those who voted Leave or Remain may be politically opposed on how they see the future of the UK, they must surely all agree that the handling of the Brexit process has been abysmal. One moment in this whole sorry saga sums up the bumbling behaviour of those in charge.

Ed Vaizey, Conservative MP for Wantage, accidentally voted both ways thinking he was voting against Labour’s amendment, which was pulled. He intended to vote in favour of Oliver Letwin’s amendment, but voted both yay and no, so the two votes cancelled each other out.

Crikey! How hard can it be?

It’s painful enough for me out here in Brisbane, and I’m 10,262 miles away from London. I would imagine for those of you living through it in the UK, these can be very stressful times.
