It’s Queensland however it needs to be reasonably close to a large hospital for my wife’s work

I’d be inclined to head for the Sunshine Coast, there are some large plots in the hinterlands some of which are not too far away from the glorious beaches you’ll find up that way.
Plenty of hospitals about as well, including a very new one which only opened last year. If your wife can get work up there, it’s a wonderful place to live and very safe.
Hey guy, I need some advice please. Does anyone have any info about the schools in Caloundra? Our kids will be 6&8 when we move there. It’s hard to get a feel for them on-line, and you can’t beat local knowledge. Which schools are good?

I have lived here in South Queensland for 16 months now since I moved here from Manchester, U.K mid August of 2013, firstly at Mountain Creek, now down at Little Mountain. Mixed feelings of Queensland but slowly it’s growing on me. My other half is Australian born and we met in England a number of years ago.
The biggest part of Australia I love is the wildlife and the seas. The weather is the third part I love and the general happy vibe the residents give off.
Of course there are the little bad points such as the real lack of regular and number of jobs younger generations can get into along with the coasts lack of late night shops (everyone has to be home from work before 6 otherwise shops begin to close at 7ish)
The Sunshine Coast is absolutely beautiful, but you’ve actually highlighted the two things that are the downside of living there. It is really difficult to find work up that way and there really isn’t that much to do in the evenings, especially for the younger set.
If you really miss those kind of things, you may be better off moving down to Brisbane. You are right about the wildlife though, amazing isn’t it?
