Yamba Named Top Town in Australia
Today, Yamba, according to a survey conducted by Australian Traveller magazine, was named the top town in Australia. If some of you may recall, Yamba was the first stop when we went on our great Australian road trip back in January. I made a couple of posts about it. The first when we arrived at Yamba in the evening, and the second when we were at Yamba during the day.
I remember saying at the time of making those posts that the pictures didn’t do Yamba the justice it deserved. I said that I would try and make a movie out of my video footage when I got back home. Well, yada yada yada and then it didn’t happen. Until today…..
Over time I intend to visit all 100 of the top towns mentioned in the survey, but it may take me the rest of my life to do them all. So please do try and stick around. I’ve been to seven of them so far, four of which are in the top 20. Yamba, as you know, and in fifth, another destination from our road trip and another one I did a post about, Port Fairy. And Byron Bay, 7th and Noosa, 20th, are two places I’ve visited during previous holidays.
Of the others, I have been to Eumundi, 79th, and Tamborine Mountain (72nd) which you see a bit of from when I went to the pub. Finally, I have driven through Tamworth but didn’t stop. It’s a country music town. Would you?
Just kidding country music fans.
