On Saturday we headed down to the Gold Coast for a party. It was our friend’s birthday so, of course, we had to celebrate. Very nice too.
We stayed over, and Sunday morning we thought it would be rude to leave the Gold Coast without having breakfast in a seaside cafe. So we had breakfast in a seaside cafe.
Unbeknown to us, there was a very special event taking place on the beach that morning. A world record was about to be broken at Surfers Paradise. Here’s a clue….

It made me realise that there is a vast difference between living in Brisbane and living in the Gold Coast, even though the two cities are only 80 km apart.
As you know, last month we had the Brisbane Festival here which is very arty. Having witnessed the tail end of the world breaking event on the beach at Surfers yesterday, I decided to make a movie to compare the two.
So, for anyone trying to decide whether to move to Brisbane or to move to the Gold Coast, hopefully this video will help you make your decision. I’ve called it…
Brisbane or the Gold Coast? You Decide!
So, what was the world breaking event that took place yesterday on the beaches of Surfers Paradise? Well, 357 bikini clad women walked a minimum of 1.6 kilometres, (that’d be a mile to some of us) making it the world’s largest bikini parade.
I missed the parade, but telegraphtv didn’t….
Neither did GoldCoastReview…
It’s tough living down under.
HI Again Bob.I just had to watch your videos again. Just as good as the first time. Tom.
Well that’s good to know Tom, I think I’ll watch them again myself then!
Cheers
Hi Bob, we will be making the move over to the Gold Coast soon so i best not show the wife this footage!
Another good idea! You can keep it as a surprise until you get here.
I must say that seeing the girls on parade made me think about being at Surfers again. Hopefully I will make one more trip toOz before Im through. Good on you BobinOZ. Tom.
Good idea! Hope to see you out here soon.
