Australia hasn’t been a barrel of laughs lately. There have been bush fires in Western Australia, a tornado in north Queensland, severe flooding in southwest Queensland with around 500 homes (and rising) affected and, of course, that almost but not tsunami.
So I thought I’d end the week WITH a barrel of laughs, courtesy of Ross Noble.
Ross did an Australian tour a while back, on his motorbike. I bet he saw a few kangaroos, I know we did on our much shorter trip.
Ross loves kangaroos, but there is one animal he is not keen on. But before I hand over to him, I have to say if you like your comedy firmly on the surreal side and you also want to see something of some of those lesser visited Australian locations, you must try to catch this series.
It’s currently showing here in Australia and it’s called “Ross Nobles Australia Trip”. It’s 6 one hour shows and I’m loving every minute of it. It has already been shown on UK TV, but if ever it’s repeated, try to catch it.
His tour started in Brisbane, then he hopped on his bike and rode to the Gold Coast, across to Broken Hill, down to Mildura, Echuca, Griffin, Wagga Wagga, Albury, then to Wollongong, Sydney, Newcastle, Taree back across to Canberra, right across to Adelaide, back to Melbourne and then zigzagging around Shepparton, Ballarat, Bendigo, Colac, Mount Gambier and Warrnambool then all the way over to Perth via Kalgoorlie, Esperance and Bunbury before heading upwards to Geraldton, then through Carnarvon, Port Headland then off to Darwin, Mount Isla across to Townsville, up to Cairns and then back down the Queensland coast all the way back to Brisbane, where he started.
85 gigs, 5 months and 26,000 kms. What an experience!
Anyway, according to Ross, the most dangerous animal in Australia is……
