Our Camping Weekend in Australia, Any Intruders?

I mentioned earlier in the week about my acclimatisation to Australia in terms of getting used to the creepy crawlies. I said that I felt we had reached stage four in the process simply by going camping.

“Camping in Australia? Are you nuts! There’ll be snakes and spiders and bugs everywhere, what are you, some kind of lunatic?” That would have been me two years ago had anybody suggested going camping in Australia.

But now we do go camping in Australia, we’ve been twice. The first time we went camping I wrote a post afterwards about whether we saw any creepy crawlies or Australian bad things while we were there.

But what about our latest camping trip, did we see anything scary?

In a word, no. But we did have one visitor and it was the exact sort of visitor I had promised I would try and photographed in my own back garden in a previous post about strange sounds. So today I can fulfil that promise.

“But you’re not in your back garden, you’re out camping!” I hear you say. Well yes, but it was my back garden for two nights. So that will do for me.

We heard movements from the tree, Beninoz grabbed the torch and I got my camera. These aren’t the greatest photographs I’ve ever taken but the important thing is I have fulfilled my promise….
