A Very Large Snake Eats a Rather Big Fluffy Meal

If you took part in the Austrivia quiz I published in my post called How Much Do You Really Know About the Land Down Under, then you would know exactly how fast kangaroos can run. And believe me, it is pretty fast.

Here is a picture though of some cute kangaroos not running…

Two kangaroosIf you’ve also read the comments on that page, you will also know that running fast doesn’t guarantee that a kangaroo doesn’t occasionally get caught by a much slower, slithering predator.

You would know that after having read Pete’s comment and him mentioning the headline he’d seen which said “An incredible video has captured the moment a huge five-metre-long snake swallowed a kangaroo whole just metres from a campsite in far north Queensland”.

Yes, it really did happen, and just a few days ago, in Far North Queensland, on a campsite. I thought you would just love to see that video…

I also thought you would love to see exactly how long that snake was as it went for an after dinner slither…

Yes, whether you prefer to call it 5 metres or 17 feet, it’s a pretty large snake.

It’s not the first time this has happened and it won’t be the last. Here’s a much bigger kangaroo being consumed by a snake…

I thought the snake had bitten more than he could digest there, but I was wrong.

Meanwhile, over in Wangaratta in New South Wales , I mean Victoria (thanks JohnOh)…

Australia; always something weird going on somewhere.

Some say the earth moved, others feel nothing at all, but the truth is, Wangaratta is still in VICTORIA. Please Bob put it back. It hasn’t moved for me and if things stay the same, we will still suffer from those unfathomable greenies, while the Victorian LABOR state government is ru(i)nning things. Much as I like some of the NSW Liberals ideas.

What was I thinking? Yes, of course it’s in Victoria, thanks for reminding me. I have now returned it to its rightful state. This country, it’s just too big…

      Thanks JohnOh
