Fire Ants in Australia: Now Who Can’t Take the Heat?

Also Known As: How to Kill an Ant Part Two

Today I have an absolute corker of a YouTube for my Friday video slot. This is an amazing clip, I first saw it just before Christmas, December 21 to be precise, it had only been online about a month.

Today, when I returned to post it here on my website, it had chalked up nearly 24,000,000 views.

Well, I did mention that it was an amazing clip, didn’t I?

First a bit of background.

We hate fire ants

But then I’m sure you know that, because you have probably already read:

Yes, I’ve written about fire ants before, they are a major ecological threat to our environment and millions and millions of dollars are being spent to try and permanently eradicate the problem.

Fire ants really are a pesky pest on a par with the cane toad and probably worse than cockroaches. They must be destroyed. Here’s the best way I have seen to destroy them, ever!

This guy has made nullifying a fire ants nest into an art form. He has created art. It’s beautiful, it’s fascinating, it will amaze you, please allow me to present to you…

My thanks to Marufish (again) for the fire ants image.

Looks like a great Christmas tree 😀

It does, doesn’t it? But it’s so beautiful, it would be a shame to only display once a year. I’d give it pride of place in my house 🙂

Oh WOW, that’s amazing! And so pretty and intricate. Did you see the video on YouTube about the etymologists who filled an African ant colony with concrete and then dug it up. That’s was gargantuan!

Just watched it, incredible! Maybe us humans don’t rule the world 🙂
