Pictures of England: ‘Britain Week’ Concluded

Except for, well, maybe just one picture in here did not come from England. I wonder if you can guess which one it is.

Anyway, as you know its Great Britain week here on Bobinoz. On Monday I had My ‘British Weekend’ in Brisbane and on Wednesday we had my Visiting Britain special. Today I conclude the trilogy with some pictures from England, taken by Mrs Bobinoz and Elizabeth during their holiday in the UK.

I was going to do a “top 10” selection, but I have instead decided to give you a glimpse of certain aspects of life in England. I’m going to show you houses and streets, traffic, some of our most famous tourist attractions, a snapshot of our beaches and the sea; you will almost be able to touch the bar and order a drink in a typical British pub and I’ll round it all off with a very typically English video.

For Australians who have never been to England, this will offer a visual insight into life on the other side of the world. For Brits living here who may be pining for England, maybe the photos on this page and the other pages in this trilogy will cure you of your home sickness.

If they do, I’ve saved you a whole wad of cash, if they don’t, then maybe you need to book a holiday of your own.

But for Brits living in Britain and hoping to move to Australia, it hasn’t been your week on Bobinoz, has it? Let’s get stuck in…

I’d like to thank Elizabeth for many of these photographs, and for the Metropolitan police for taking such good care of her…

Elizabeth

Elizabeth has NOT been arrested!

And finally it’s time for the Friday video. Again, I’d like to thank Elizabeth for providing this video which she shot using her iPod. It’s not a video of Windsor Castle, it’s not rare footage of the Queen, nor is it a video of the fun they had at Legoland.

What do us British people do for entertainment on a rainy autumn afternoon? Why, of course, we sit around the piano and sing songs. All the way from England, take it away Jasper…..

    Hi Bob

This is my first post on your site and I like the photos were doing the off hopefully by the end of the year to Perth and seeing how grey London looks makes me laugh and South end on sea, well speaks for its self , I used to go down that helter-skelter when I was young lol

I’m from east London and the missus is from Essex and we don’t need much encouragement to get away

    Thanks again

Yes, I used to go down that helter-skelter as well when I was a kid, it seemed much bigger in those days 🙂

I think you’ll find Perth to be a quite stunning shade of blue most of the time. Cheers, Bob

    Hi Bob,
Now I have a question. Who talks funny now? I’m sure you are now used to Aussie, so did your 2 ladies found the English talking funny? Or did the English found your ladies talking funny?

I know it’s not as obvious as it would be with American, but I’m curious if there was anything, well… Funny! 😛

Well, it was noted that my young daughter Elizabeth sounded like an Aussie, but then she was only three when we moved here so she has now spent much more time in Australia than she did in England. My sister apparently mentioned to my wife that she had an Aussie twang, something my wife would deny all day long.

As for the English talking funny, “Nah!’ Same as always.

Enough to make you want to jump off Tower Bridge! I think you saved me that wad of cash.

There you go! You can spend some of the money you saved on a sun lounge for your back garden or something.
