Whale Watching With The Lucky People

It’s been an absolutely glorious week here in Brisbane, a great start to the spring school holidays. If this were England, we’d be talking about a summer heatwave.

It’s not. It’s Australia. And it’s still only early spring.

On Monday, as you know, Elizabeth went to Redcliffe with her mummy and some of her friends where they played in the lagoon.

Well, on Tuesday she went to another lagoon with some different friends. This lagoon being the one in South Bank Parklands in Brisbane City…..

South Bank Parklands, BrisbaneThat evening, Mrs BobinOz told me that her and the other mum with her, Stacey, sat there and watched our three little girls play in the sand and in the lagoon for nearly 4 hours. They didn’t argue at all. Nobody got upset about anything. They wanted for nothing and asked for nothing.

They just had tons of fun.

I’ve said it before on this blog in many places, and this is a great example of exactly what I mean. This is what Australia has to offer.

We can argue about the cost of living all day long, but the best things here in Australia are free. It’s called the great outdoors.

Whale Watching: But who’s doing the watching?

Sticking with the outdoor theme for today, I was inspired into finding this next video gem by a news item on TV a couple of days ago.

A guy was out at sea in his kayak when he was surrounded by five, yes 5 whales. They swam around him for about 30 minutes, he could even hear then “talking” to each other under the sea in a way that only whales can.

You know, “woboobbloobbbow, woboobbloobbbow, woboobbloobbbow.” Well, something like that.

He did capture it all on video, but sadly, I couldn’t find it. But I did find something just as remarkable.

As many of you will know, I’ve been whale watching a couple of times without much success. Hopefully you will have read my post about whale watching at North Stradbroke Island.

We also went on a whale watching boat trip down on the Gold Coast which resulted in my video, which you can see here, called The Truth About Whale Watching.

I think the reason I have had no luck with whale watching is because these people had all of it. Check out this remarkable video which was uploaded to YouTube (at the time of writing) only yesterday…..

But then again, on the plus side, when I went to Teewah Beach I didn’t see any of sharks, as they did there just a few days ago….

you should just do a voice over on the video and pretend like its all your own footage! I won’t tell!

That’s a great idea! Then next week, maybe I could climb Uluru and the week after that I could go scuba diving around the Great Barrier Reef, all without leaving home. Thanks mate!

      You sure you won’t tell?
