I'm not qualified to answer these kinds of questions, but I know someone who is. I will let you know when I have put up details of how he might be able to help you.

Hello there!

Quick question. Is it true that if I get P.R, my PHD study will be free?

and if it is true, who will bear my cost of living? Is it me or the Government?

Cheers,

Adam

If I remember correctly, your age at the time of your application is the age that counts. I think that is how they worked it when I applied. So I'd get your application in fast.

See you in Specsavers!

Hey, I was just wondering about the working holiday visa. I know it is for people aged 18-30 but I will turn 30 in October. say for example I went out in August, I'm 30 2 months later. Is that ok? I would still only be 30 when my visa expired, not 31. I probaly sound like a thicko lol but I feel very confused!

I'm not sure if I would want to get PR in OZ, but I would love the chance to work and live there for a while and just have fun experiencing a new culture, and who knows I would maybe fall in love with the place? I have a computer networking degree, but I can't get a job with it in the UK. I'm looking into trying to get work as an optical asssistant and then hopefully train to be a dispensing optician as that is on the skilled workers list. Or as a dental nurse/hygeniest. They are both careers I'm interested in doing regardless of whether I went to Oz or not, so if I could go with them it would just be a nice bonus :) Also Specsavers are in Oz so maybe if I got a job here with them I could see about a transfer to Oz and sponsorship haha!

I was actually going to go travelling around Oz and SE Asia when I was younger, but I ended up staying with my bf. Man do I regret that decision!!!

Anyway, I'll stop rambling now! I really like your blog, very informative and funny!
