I’m sure you all want to know what I did at the weekend.
Well, it was the usual thing; fast cars, women, alcohol, dancing, music, that sort of stuff.
In other words, me, my wife and daughter (and a bunch of friends) headed over to Rocklea for the 12th annual Greazefest, which is, well, their website says it best……
“Held in Brisbane, Australia, the GreazeFest is a crankin’ weekend of cool cars, rockabilly tunes, vintage bikes, lowrider cycles, low brow art, pinstripers, tattoos and vintage threads.”
Tatoos? They weren’t kidding! I’ve never seen so many!
The event took place over the whole weekend, with Saturday being the big party night for rockers, rollers and rockabilly fans to jive their stuff until gone midnight in the Rocklea Showgrounds Bar. In all, there were over 25 live bands and DJs making an appearance during the 3 day festival.
But we chose to go on the Sunday, which was more children friendly and included market stalls and hundreds of classic cars and hot rods on display. Mind you, even though it was the middle of the afternoon, it didn’t stop those rockers from doing their thing on the dancefloor, as you will see in my short video…..
Greazefest was huge, well-organised and great fun. We all enjoyed ourselves and have promised we will return next year, but this time for the Saturday night knees-up!
Now, I realise I didn’t do a very good job of capturing the tattoos and the style . Fortunately, News on ABC did….
