Since my last email to you I have learned that the Meter Maids have now been purchased by a lady named Roberta Aitchison.She bought them to run as a business ,and Im sure she has some very good ideas as to how she plans on keeping up their treadition. Roberta emailed me last week and I intend on keeping in touch if for nothing more tghen to wish them all tghe best of a good conversation piece. They are a great attraction and it would be a shame to lose that almost 50-year tradition. My wife and I are headed to Australia in either 2012 or early 2013 for three weeks. Much of the trip will be on the Gold Coast. We plan to stay at Surfers Paradise and the tipping point is the meter maids. But for them, I would stay at a cheaper part of the coast. Well, the people that run the Gold Coast have to understand what they have there, but it sometimes sounds like they don’t “get” it.
