Movies, Double Disco’s, a Sleepover and a Sore Head Sunday.

“So, what did you do at the weekend Bob?”

Well, I’m glad you asked.

Firstly, although I didn’t go, my little girl, Elizabeth, and her mum went off to the park early evening for another movie in the park presentation. They met up with other mums and kiddies and watched a movie called “Up”, a film about a house that floats away with the balloons. It was free, of course.

A great time was had by all.

Then on Saturday, Elizabeth had a sleepover after attending the local school disco. She went around one of her best friends to stay the night after they’d all worn themselves out dancing to “The Wiggles” or whatever it is six-year-olds dance to these days.

Of course, we’d palmed her off to stay the night elsewhere for a reason. We had our own disco to go to. We were off to “Dave’s Disco”. Dave was born in the 70′s, it was his 40th birthday bash, and yes, you’ve guessed it, he was going to have a…….

A 70′s Disco Party

All the big names were there. As you can see from this first photograph, Kojak had a busy night; here he is apprehending a “dodgy 70′s geezer”. Frida and Anna of Abba look on whilst in the background, Harold Steptoe chats up a couple of hippie chicks.

The carefully constructed “Lurve Nest” was largely ignored throughout the evening as guests preferred to dance like John Travolta……..

Oh look! That's Diana Ross with her back to us.

…..well, kind of. Check out the crazy dance floor…….

……..this really was like going back in time. Open shirts, hairy chests and medallions’ were also big on the night. They’d even remembered to include a chocolate fondue.

As usual, Elvis started to show off…….

………but then Elvis will be Elvis. As the evening wore on things got more out of control. I had my Rastafarian wig stolen and reported it to Kojak. He turned out to be absolutely hopeless, more interested in posing and sucking his lollipop than solving the crime.

Unbelievable!

Unfortunately (hehe) there are no photographs of me. Because I was behind the camera.

Oh well.

My thanks to Dave and Claire for putting on a top notch party.

Hi Heidi

Yes, it was a really good shindig, had a lot of fun. Elizabeth loved her sleepover too, a real bonus. Means we can go out more often.

Cheers, Bob
