It seems quite a while ago that I was at Hervey Bay enjoying a short break, which I’m sure you have all read about in my post called Sun, Sea, Sand and a Place to Chill.
Shortly after that break, as I’m sure you also know, huge areas of South East Queensland were hit with a never-ending downpour which ultimately lead to more floods. The beautiful clear blue skies (right) I enjoyed on that little holiday soon turned into A Very Wet Bank Holiday Weekend.
As a result of that, I never really quite finished telling you about all the fun we had over in Hervey Bay; now, I think, is a good time to catch up with that.
As I mentioned in that post, Hervey Bay is right opposite Fraser Island and it would have been an act of sheer madness had we not jumped on a ferry and popped over to take a look.
After all, it is the world’s largest sand island. It may even be the universe’s largest sand island, but we don’t know that for sure, not yet.
It was a long day, we were up and away by 7:30 in the morning and we didn’t get back until almost 7 o’clock at night.
Here are the highlights, and here is Fraser Island…
Oh, for anyone who needs to know, that wasn’t Cream, just in case you were wondering, it was Amboy Dukes Featuring Ted Nugent.
